Aroha Photography.

Gail gave me the opportunity to design a logo for her Photography company. She just sent me these pix of the business cards I laid out for her too. Always feels good to see your work in print plus in return we get a session with her next weekend before we fly over to New Zealand! Too bad I am really not liking my hair at the moment. Oh well my boys are cute :)

Oh and visit the Giveaway over at the Snapdragon Blog for a chance to win some free goodies!

Outside my bedroom window.

The leaves have changed and fallen off. Now we wait for the snow but hope for a few more lovely evenings like this in the meantime.

Middle of the night round up.

a little bit of style: Mad Men Cast

Gotta love Joan and her curves! This show is tight and crisp and cool as are these pix.

a little film project: Nathaniel Hansen's short doc series

Pat from Nathaniel Hansen on Vimeo.

This is a close friend of mine who is working on his MFA in documetary filmaking in Boston and these are the shorts he has been making the last few weeks for his course of Gilbert, Pat, and Ron. I find myself looking forward to Thursday to see his creation. Such a gift.

a little color: This cake on Whatever...

I have seen this cake floating around the blog world for weeks but I have found myself dreaming about cake recently. It looks like it would be kind of fun to make. Cool idea.

a little process: Over at Marimekko

I love love love this process. It is so exciting and reminds me of my time in India getting our Snapdragon fabric printed which I still hold as one of the most inspiring days of my life--obviously on a much smaller scale but so dang inspiring. Plus, love me some Marimekko-the swedish blood in me ;)

a little laugh: these commercials!

At first I thought they were a joke but NO, these two guys actually make these real commercials for people. You can actually nominate a business too--pretty sweet. The Salt Lake Salon one is too good.

a little rock love ballad:Brandi Carlisle--The Story

I love me a good power ballad. I find myself listening to it over and over and over and over.

Bring your baby to work at the Inn week.

Now that the little kiwi is feeling a bit better and we were able to leave the house again, I am back down at the Inn trying to make a dent in the never ending trim painting saga. I have him all bundled up and he generally falls asleep under the glow of the warm lamp.

I have also gotten back on the twitter wagon for the Inn as well as spending some quality time brainstorming and planning how to spread the good the good word about the Snapdragon.

I am also about to go take pictures of our first completed Before and After Pictures of some of our Brimfield Chairs. They look AMAZING. Can't wait to share.

This is the Before--I actually really liked them then too but
now they are too cool for school.

Middle of the night round up.

Nothing is really consistent in my life these days except that I am consistently up at hours of the night/morning when I used to be sleeping. I have this whole new space of time to peruse the google tubes (if I can see straight) and check in at sites that I normally followed by day.
Here is my MIDDLE OF NIGHT ROUND UP.

DESIGNY : Lonny Magazine

Since Domino left us earlier this year, there has certainly by a void. Word on the street was they folded due to advertising/money issues so a new (exclusively online) magazine is here to fill the void--Lonny! I think it is kind of weird not being able to hold a tangible item--take with you all week and gulp it up but I am happy to see a fun and colorful design/lifestyle magazine entering back into the world and think about the the savings in not printing. I also kind of do like the online viewing layout. It looks so crisp.
Lonny was also featured in Vanity Fair December and they are also on Facebook.

STYLEY: Flowers Uncut with Jeff Leathman on TLC

I have a serious (and sort of shameful) interest in Reality TV. I don't particularly like to watch TV ( sans a few shows) but there is something about Reality TV that sucks me in and the reason for that is an entirely different post on an entirely different blog. Heck, I don't even have a TV. But Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Hell's Kitchen, Man vs. Wild etc etc. I do especially like ANY show that is in ANY way related to a creative process-- Project Runway, Cake Boss, dare I say, Americas Next Top Model and this Flowers Uncut looks right up my alley.

Style Me Pretty added had this sneak peak up.

FILMY
: AVATAR Preview

We have been hearing about Avatar for what seems to be MONTHS! James Cameron's tour du force back into cinema. I saw the first preview and thought the colors were cool and it, for sure, looked more interesting than I wanted to admit. I have a love/hate relationship with his movies. but this lastest extended preview that explains the storyline a bit more has me totally fascinated and excited to jump onto James Cameron's ego wagon.

RANDOMY: Halloween 2009

There were some festive Halloween moments this year. My boy was a panda for his first Halloween and I went to my brother's restaurant party with the 80s theme which was not as difficult as perhaps it should have been because I pulled everything out of my own closet. Hmmmmmm. Any reason to use colored eye shadow I say!

That is all for now. I am off to bed before I have to get up again :) Enjoy!

a wee drive.

by Leilani

Leilani, the little man and I took a wee drive today to get some more shots for the Inn. There is so much texture in the Vermont countryside--soon to be on the walls of the Snapdragon.

A different kind of foliage picture.

As promised--a few foliage pictures from Fall '09. I got me and my boy all snuggled up in our layers and headed out for a short walk to get some pictures of the changing landscape before the foliage is gone for another 6 months. It has been a strange year for color in our area but Autumn creates incredible colors no matter what--even if they aren't brilliant and bright like last year- they are contrasting and rich.
